TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Mobility Screening

A TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) mobility screening is designed to assess an individual’s mobility limitations and imbalances in the body’s movement patterns. The assessment is based on a series of physical tests and movements used to identify any physical limitations or restrictions that could affect an individual’s golf swing or athletic performance.

By identifying any mobility limitations or imbalances, the individual can then work to correct them through specific exercises and stretches, which can improve their golf game and reduce the risk of injury.

The TPI mobility screening is particularly useful for golfers, as it can help improve their swing mechanics and power, allowing them to hit the ball further and more accurately.

The screening consists of 16 different movement tests that assess mobility, stability, and balance in different areas of the body. These tests provide a comprehensive evaluation of a golfer’s physical state, which can help the golfer and their coach identify areas of weakness that may impact their golf game.

Why every golfer should get a TPI Screening

If you’re looking to improve your golf game, you may want to consider getting a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Movement Screen.

The TPI Movement Screen is a great way to assess your current movement capabilities, identify limitations, and provide you with your “Body-Swing” connection. The “Body-Swing” connection is a term coined by TPI which illustrates the link between physical deficiencies and potential swing tendencies based on their Big 12 model.

The Big 12 swing characteristics TPI has identified are:

1. S-Posture
2. C-Posture
3. Loss of Posture
4. Flat Shoulder Plane
5. Early Extension
6. Over the Top
7. Sway
8. Slide
9. Hanging Back
10. Reverse Spine Angle
11. Casting
12. Chicken Winging

By identifying these inefficiencies, you can work on correcting them and improving your swing efficiency and overall game.
